Sophia Sophia is a color-obsessed earring enthusiast who creates bold, handcrafted jewelry for anyone but wallflowers. Her statement pieces are known for their unapologetic use of vibrant color, playful proportions, and sculptural forms—wearable art meant to spark conversation.

Each piece is treated as a true work of art. Sophia draws inspiration from a wide range of sources: her eclectic wardrobe of patterned garments, freshly sliced citrus, Memphis Design, 1950s modernist jewelry, summer memories, rainbow makers, CocoRosie, trolls, nail polish, homemade haircuts, mobiles, contemporary fashion design, Alice Neel paintings, Kraft mac and cheese, and above all—color.

In a digital-first world, Sophia finds grounding in the analog: every piece is made by hand using traditional metalsmithing techniques that have been practiced for generations. Her work is constantly evolving and deeply personal—bold, eccentric, and unmistakably hers. While not made for everyone, each design reflects her creative spirit and vision—something she believes is essential to staying true as an artist.

Sophia holds a BFA from Pratt Institute and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She launched Studio Sophia Sophia in 2014, which is currently based in Binghamton, NY.
